Rehearsals of Trimpley Players throughout January and February culminated in a hilarious show performed to over 260 local people over two weekends in March this year.  The biennial show entitled ‘Comedy Sketchbook’ included Trimpley Players’ version of well known comedy sketches from past and present TV shows.

Directed by Sue Thompson, characters were portrayed from the various comedy shows, including Dad’s Army, Steptoe & Son, Little Britain, Father Ted, and Vicar of Dibley.  The sketches proved to be very popular and there was plenty of laughter throughout all four performances of the show.

The picture above shows Pete Hailes, Paul Wright and Amy Trevitt in a scene from Steptoe & Son.  Costumes and Scenery were made by the members of Trimpley Players.

Trimpley Players is a volunteer group of local people who put on a show every other year, raising money in aid of the Village Hall.  This year £2000 was raised which is a welcome boost to the Village Hall funds.

Trimpley Players were formed in 1984, with their first performance in 1985, and over the years have presented many varied and always entertaining revues and pantomimes.  The efforts and commitment of this small group is very much appreciated.  They give up so much of their time to present a show which entertains the local community and  benefits the Village Hall.
