Trimpley Village Hall  – Final Update on Development Project

The Official Opening of the new facilities at our refurbished and improved community building was a great success.  Held on Saturday 17th March from 2pm – 4pm, the afternoon was full of activity with all our user groups taking part.   Each group put on  a table-top display to promote their activities.  Whyley Dance girls performed a dance display and Trimpley Toddlers entertained us with their crocodile.  Music was provided by local group: ‘Taylormade’.  Trimpley Green W I members served refreshments from our new kitchen.

We were pleased to welcome representatives from several of our Funders.  The Opening ceremony included a few words from three members of the community who have had a long association with Trimpley Village Hall, and the unveiling of a plaque to commemorate the occasion was performed by Sue Thompson, long-serving committee member and past Chairman of the Management Committee.

In the evening we held an Irish themed evening [it being St Patrick’s Day] and served a delicious hot meal to some 60 local people, following which we were entertained by local group ‘The O’Farrells Frollicks’.

The Development Project is now completed and the new facilities are proving to be very popular, shown by an increase in the use of the village hall for a wide range of activities.

We are pleased to have been invited to enter our Development Project in the Biffa Awards 2012, and delighted that we have now been short-listed for this Award.  We await the results with anticipation.
