Once the necessary funding was in place, work on Trimpley Village Hall Development Project began on 18th July 2011.
Refurbishment of the main hall has been completed and we now have a most attractive and comfortable room.
Removal of the old kitchen has enabled the installation of two large windows in the end wall, giving much more natural light into the Hall and taking advantage of the panoramic view. Double glazed windows have replaced the old windows. Roller blinds have been fitted to all the windows and quotations are being sought for curtains and stage lighting.
The old ceiling tiles have been replaced with a new, fully insulated, plastered ceiling. New energy- saving lighting and heating has been installed. New ash doors have been fitted, including double doors to access the store room. A new disabled / emergency access has been put in.
The new kitchen is operational with modern units, a built-in cooker, microwave oven, sink, hand wash basin and an electrically operated rolled shutter fitted to the kitchen hatch, all comply with current hygiene and fire safety standards.
The store room construction is nearing completion and will soon be ready to store the chairs, tables, and stage sections, as well as user groups’ equipment.
The Management Committee would like to thank all users of the Village Hall for their co-operation during the Project work. Everyone has been extremely tolerant amidst the inevitable disruption caused by a project of this size.
There will be a considerable amount of work to tidy up the area outside the hall but, once this is completed, we hope you will all be pleased with the results of the Trimpley Village Hall Development Project.
The Official Opening Event is planned for Saturday 17th March 2012. Details to be announced.
