Parish Council Meeting Trimpley Foreign @ Trimpley Village Hall

Kidderminster Foreign Parish

This pleasantly unspoilt parish extends north-west from Kidderminster up the east side of the Severn Valley as far as Eymore Wood, an outpost of the Wyre Forest that reaches a height of 658 ft. This parish is one of hills and vales and has, as its centre, the village of Trimpley. In this area the Royalists were defeated in a skirmish during the Civil War.

South of Trimpley is Wassell Wood on whose tree-clad summit (575 ft) is an earthwork said to be the remains of a Roman camp. To the east, extending north-west from Kidderminster, is the unspoilt Habberley Valley, a beauty spot noted for its unique plant life. Here is Pekket’s Rock, an eroded sandstone pinnacle close to which is the ‘Giant’s Grave’.

An interesting and pleasant feature of the landscape is the Trimpley Reservoir, which supplements the water supply for Birmingham.
